The Hostage Chapter 9
This morning I was surprised to find Rob in my room when I woke up. I was very scared, but he looked as bad as I did I think.
I looked at him and asked him “Why?”
He looked so sad and guilty. He told me even though I may not understand, I’m here for my safety. I’m not sure if I believe that, but I think the best plan is to go along with it and hope I can gain his trust. I tried begging him to let me go home. My boyfriend would be worried sick. I’m sure the police were looking for me.
I promised him I wouldn’t tell anyone what had happened, I’d say I just went on a trip. He didn’t go for it and kept repeating, ” I can’t, it isn’t safe. You have to trust me” Ha, right. Trust the man who drugged me and kidnapped me. Like that will ever happen.
As luck would have it, when he left my room, he forgot to lock it! I waited a few minutes until I thought he would be gone. I’m not sure what is on the other side of this door, but I hope I’m about to find out. Maybe I can get out of here and get home.
The room looks like I’m in some type of a basement. There are no windows in this room either. There is a computer and a bulletin board, it looks like my picture on it.
It is my picture, it has all kinds of information about me on it. I don’t know what is going on, but I need to get out of here. I see some stairs in the corner and I’m going up… I have a feeling I’m underground.
I run up the stairs as quietly as I can. At the top of the stairs is just a small room, there is a window, but it is boarded over. Another bulletin board hangs on the wall, I see no door!
I’m starting to freak out. How did I get in here if there is no door, there has to be a door! I search the walls carefully and notice this one wall looks funny. It looks like a hidden door.
It is a hidden door! I have to get out of here. I push and push on the door, but I don’t think I’m strong enough to open it.
I start to cry and pound on the door. I have to get out of here! Please let me out!
Unfortunately, Rob heard me crying and came running up the stairs. He yelled at me, ” He is watching everything! Listen to what I say and do NOT ever try to leave here again. You will not be safe! He will find you and then I can’t help you!”
